Geloof me vrij, daar zou je vlotjes over kunnen gaan als je 3 weken verblijft in de beste hotels en een privé-jacht huurt om van het ene eiland naar het andere te varen. Maar als vrolijke backpacker of wie gaat rondreizen en in casas particulares verblijft, kom je met een derde van dat bedrag ook toe als je 2 tot 3 weken daar bent. Beiden kunnen maar weet dat je bij de bank een zeer slechte wisselkoers zal krijgen. Lotte is een prille 40-er die haar eigen ViaVia Reiscafé in Marrakech uitbaat. Tijdens de Corona-lockdown startte ze haar podcast waar ze haar vrienden die 40 worden in 2020, onderwerpt aan een reeks vragen. Ik merk dat knopen doorhakken, burn-out en ‘ik-weet-het-hier-efkes-niet-meer’ standaard bij het leven van iemand van 40 hoort. Het stelt me gerust.
